By Nina Lane
Release Day – Dec 12, 2017

He knows if she’s been bad or good.

Amidst the sugarplums and mistletoe, fashion stylist Julia Bennett is every inch a scrooge. Known for her ice-queen ways, she’s having a meltdown over a botched business deal and an upcoming milestone birthday. Add the pressure of forced holiday cheer, and she’s ready to dive into the spiked eggnog and not come out until summer.

Warren Stone, president and owner of the Sugar Rush Candy Company, is determined to make Julia slow down and enjoy the holidays. As her friend and confidante for thirteen years, he knows her better than anyone. But when decking the halls leads them to an explosive, sexy night, everything suddenly changes.

And when Warren decides Julia is all he wants for Christmas, will she risk their longtime friendship for the gift of love?

5 ‘Mountains & Lists’ Stars!

I’ve just finished my new favorite Sugar Rush book. Yep, Sweet Life is THAT good. I was so excited when Nina announced she was writing this story and now I can assure you that it’s totally worth to read it! Julia and Warren are such a fantastic book couple and when this is all mixed with an awesome list of secondary characters, a whole lot of chemistry and emotions plus the Christmas theme it definitely becomes an outstanding read!

So, Sweet Life is the fifth installment in the Sugar Rush series, focused on the Stone family and their famous candy company. Now it’s time for the patriarch of the family and the apparently ice cold aunt to fall in love. Warren Stone is the president of Sugar Rush and he is also a widower. Julia has been there for him and for his children since her sister Rebecca died but she also has been hiding something: she loves him deeply. It seems like the magic of a kiss under a mistletoe changes everything! These two start a secret but very intense affair, even though Julia is so scared to love and to share it with everyone, and, of course, love happens.

“You don’t always have to do something just because it will get you somewhere,” Warren said. “Sometimes it’s okay to just want it.”

I love couples that are a little bit outside of the “typical” couple in romance. Warren and Julia are an older couple (on their early fifties) but that doesn’t mean they do not have lots of mind-blowing chemistry! I mean, let me repeat it: Sweet Life is my favorite Sugar Rush book to date. And it’s all because of this amazing couple. Not only they have supported each other through the years and secretly hoped for more but they also have lots of sexual tension between them! How hot is the whole “this is a bid forbidden but I want you” vibe? I loved it!

“Wet and hot,” he murmured, biting gently down on her collarbone. “Exactly the way I’d imagined my ice queen under all that frost.”

And talking about sexual tension.. Holy Mother! Warren and Julia are not lacking on the chemistry department, that is for sure! These two together are beautifully explosive and they are not afraid to spice things up when the time comes! They are very sexual people but they get extremely sentimental too. It’s not easy, especially for Julia, to accept that she loves her sister’s widower. Warren loved his wife but he has always had a strong connection with Julia. And when the time is good for them to love each other, Warren is the absolute sweetest and sexiest man on the Earth because he instantly declares what he feels for Julia. This couple.. Seriously, you have to meet them!

Loving Julia was change. Intense beauty. A touch of melancholy. Leaving behind and starting new. The indescribable joy of knowing he had lived as well as he possibly could, but that it was far from over. With her, he could see the bloom of endless springs.

What I also loved is that, even though they can’t do the same things as when they were younger, they do no stop to fight for what they want. Warren wants to climb a mountain and he will climb the mountain. Julia wants her own clothing line and she will get to do that too. These two are such a strong couple and it was impossible for me not to love them! I loved them as individuals and I loved the crap out of them as a couple (get ready because things get oh-so-HAWT!). Moreover, who does not love seeing the whole Stone family in the same book and during Christmas? This girl is not complaining! Especially, when I get what I want: an emotional and beautiful happily ever after!

She hadn’t missed anything in life. Just the opposite. With Warren, the boys, Hailey, her life here in this town… she’d found everything.

Therefore, my rating for Sweet Life is 5 STARS because I cannot tell you enough times how much I loved this novel and this couple. Julia and Warren are perfect for each other and it’s clearly visible throughout the whole read. I loved them together, I loved them as friends, as parents of Warren’s children and as a couple. Nina is one of the best authors out there for me when it comes to emotional and sexy love stories! So, of course, if you want to know more about the Stone family and how their patriarch falls in love, check this book right now. You will not regret it!!
