Review: ‘Wild Like the Wind’ by Kristen Ashley

3.5 ‘Winners’ Stars!

As you may know, I always have crazy high expectations when it comes to Kristen Ashley. She is one of my favorite authors EVER and I also am a massive fan of this series. Hound and Keely’s story has been something we have been waiting for a while so I wanted something that simply blew my mind. Did it blow my mind though? Kinda yes, kinda no. Did I enjoyed the story, the chemistry and all these amazing characters? Of course I did!

Now, this is what happened. It took me a long time to understand Keely and her behaviour towards Hound. It wasn’t until almost the 50% of the book that we finally understand everything going on in her mind and heart. Also, I can’t believe I am about to say this but this novel had too much sex. Was it emotional because of all the suspense and the whole thing around Keely being a widow of a Chaos brother? Yes, but I still missed those moments I normally experience while reading a KA book. Those scenes that keep me at the edge of my sit and make me feel all the emotions.

No matter how much it took, how deep it dug, how empty it left him, he’d give her what she needed even if it left nothing of him, and after she was gone, he drifted to ash and blew away with the wind.

Yes, Hound and Keely have a beautiful connection and smoking hot chemistry but I wanted those scenes that simply make me cry my eyes out because feelings overwhelm me. And yes, I did cry one time because here is the best thing about Wild Like the Wind: the hero. Hound is such a good man. He been in love with Keely for so many years, he has always been there for her and her boys, he loves his Chaos family and he adores his elderly neighbor a.k.a. Jean bug. This man made me melt all over: he took care of Jean every single day and it’s absolutely adorable. He loves fiercely, he is all biker alpha and he is even a domestic man!

I was a pawn in life’s game, I knew that, so I had no faith in what life had in store for me.
But Hound?
I had all the faith in the world that Hound could do anything.

So yeah, leaving all those things aside, I did enjoy this book and this couple. I am so glad they finally got their happy ending and I was so happy to see all the Chaos characters again. And I can’t wait to read Rush’s story (I can’t believe his will be the last in the series!), the teaser at the end was so good!
