ARC Review: ‘This Much is True’ by Tia Louise

Review

4 ‘Hope eternal’ Stars!

ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

My first book by the lovely Tia Louise and certainly not my last! I’ve had many of Tia’s novels in my Goodreads TBR list for the longest time and I don’t know why I never got to read them. Well, I was lucky enough to be contacted by Tia herself when she asked me if I wanted to read her new upcoming novel and I was all over the idea as soon as I read the blurb! Tia has also worked with one of my favorite authors, Ilsa Madden-Mills, so I was definitely excited and curious to start the journey of reading a new style and a new-to-me author.

This Much is True is Tia’s newest novel and it can be read as a standalone, even though now it has become the first in her new series called Taking Chances. This is the love story between Hope and J.R., two people with complete opposite lives that happen to just clash together in the most unexpected way and in a world that is still facing this terrible pandemic. J.R. just got out of prison, where he was there for a crime he did not commit. He is ready to face the truth and find his way back to his son. Enter Hope, the woman who has lost her way of income and happens to be hangover in the car J.R. just bought. A strange road trip starts and sparks start flying.

Hope Eternal Hill is light and pure, and I can’t be the black storm that smashes all her dreams with my quest for revenge.

This novel is like a huge warm hug, which I think is very much needed right now. This Much is True features two main characters that do not have it easy but do not give up. J.R. and Hope start on the wrong foot but that does not stop chemistry getting in the way. A beautiful connection grows in their road trip together with Scout (J.R.’s brother) and it grows even stronger when J.R. finally reunites with his adorable son. And you all know I am a sucker for a good single-dad romance and Tia Louise did a wonderful job with this one! I loved this couple, seeing the tension and the chemistry between them and seeing their love grow as a couple and as a family. This is the kind of book I am always in the mood for because it left me so happy after finishing it!

It’s a promise of hope and of a future. It’s a promise born of hardship and refusing to let go.
It’s a promise that says this much is true… I’ll never let you go.

Therefore, I am rating This Much is True with 4 STARS because this moving romance got to me in the best way and made me fall in love with Tia’s writing. I loved these characters, the relationships developed between them and the burning connection between J.R. and Hope. I am so happy these two and Jeese got their happy ending and I am even happier that Tia is turning this into series and she is writing Scout’s story now. Wohooo! As I said, my first book from this author but it will sure not be my last one.
