How to behave when the guy who broke your heart two thousand miles away turns up in your office:

One: Don’t drop your lucky coffee cup in shock, even though it’s been ten years.

Two: Don’t get defensive when he asks how you ended up working his family’s ski mountain… and why you kept it a secret.

Three: Give him the worst room in the resort. He deserves it for suddenly waltzing back in like he owns the place. (Which he kind of does.)

Four, five, six, seven, eight and nine: Do not kiss him in the hot tub.

Ten: Try to keep your heart intact after you break all of your rules.

Because Reed is leaving again. Hate can’t turn back into love. And it’s a little too late

Review

4.5 ‘You are so loved’ Stars!

Back in 2020, three authors teamed up and wrote an amazing rockstar romance series that many of us loved. Sarina Bowen, Rebecca Yarros and Devney Perry are back this year with another collaboration and I am all over the idea of a small-town / mountain themed series. Sarina Bowen starts with a beautiful second chance love story that will make you root for this couple and get you curious and excited to know more about the other two mysterious Madigan siblings.

A Little Too Late is the first installment in the Madigan Mountain series and it tells the story of Reed Madigan, the oldest sibling, and his reunion with his college sweetheart, Ava. Reed left Colorado many years ago and he is now back to see what is going on with his family’s mountain resort. What he didn’t expect is to find his ex-girlfriend working there. These two didn’t leave things well, especially Reed, and now the past is coming back with a force. Especially their intense connection and chemistry. Will the past win again or is it time for Reed and Ava to finally be happy together?

“To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides.”

I loved this book! Such a great start to this new series. Second chances are probably my all-time favorite romances to read and A Little Too Late was such a beautiful example. I loved reading how Reed and Ava’s relationship started, how it developed, how it ended and how this couple reconnects after so many years and so many experiences away from one another. It got really emotional at times and I loved every second of it. I fell in love with this couple and these new characters. I loved the chemistry between Reed and Ava and their love for each other. I cannot wait to read more about this crew and thank God we have two more installments on the way!

I haven’t been living, I realize. Not the way I used to. And I want it back. All of it. Including Ava.
Especially Ava.

Therefore, I am rating A Little Too Late with 4.5 STARS because I found it to be the perfect way to start this new series and to start getting to know these characters that I am sure we will absolutely adore. As I said, I love second chances and Reed and Ava’s is one you cannot miss. If you love this troupe and small town / mountain themed romance, this series will be right up your alley. I cannot wait to read Rebecca and Devney’s stories next!
